Description

Please Join Child Inc as we Commemorate

Head Start’s 50th Annniversary

OPEN HOUSE & BLOCK PARTY

We celebrate the vision of President Johnson because Child, Inc., through our Head Start program, continues to impact our Pre-K youth by providing early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income families with children from birth to age five.

This has been the proud tradition of our agency in Travis County since 1972. Head Start ensures success by becoming a compassionate partner with parents on behalf of their children. Recognizing that parents are their child’s first and most influential teachers, we take pride in working with families to remove barriers to their success and to deepen their ability to support their children.

The day will provide an opportunity to meet community partners and tour the new St. James Early Head Start Expansion and Child Care Partnership grant site.

As a registered 501(c)3 organization, Child Inc – Head Start Grantee, provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income families with children from birth to age five in Austin and Travis County.  Established in 1972, Child Inc serves approximately 2,000 families on an annual basis, promoting school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, dental, nutritional, social and other comprehensive inclusionary services.   Services are provided in 19 stand-alone centers, in collaborative classrooms (4 year olds) within Travis County school districts as well as through home-based visitation.

The mission of Child Inc is to provide high quality education and comprehensive support services for children and their families while promoting personal and social responsibility in the communities we serve.  Our mission stems from providing access to quality early learning environments and family supports for high risk populations.
